Lively interviews ensued as contestants crossed the finish line of the Pittsburgh Marathon – all illuminated with Videssence ExceLED Nine lights. Rather than baking under typical hot lights, these interviews were cool as can be with LED fixtures that project little to no heat. Clara Santucci, a Dilliner native and another Pennsylvania native Tyler McCandless along with many others took time to chat with Bob Pamoeani, the KDKA-TV sports personality. Many may remember that Clara Santucci also won the 2014 Marathon with her best time of 2:32:25, giving her back to back wins in Pittsburgh.  Although she did not achieve her goal of beating the course record, Clara could hold her head high. She past the lead, Aliphine Tuliamuk-Bolton in the final mile and finished almost 40 seconds ahead for the win earning $13,500 in prize money.

While Tyler McCandless, a former Penn State All-American, was off the winning time by over 3 minutes, his 2:18:29 time placed him fourth overall and the top American male. Looking ahead, both competitors view the Pittsburgh Marathon as a perfect training ground for competing in the 2016 Olympic Marathon Trials.
